On Thursday, as Telangana went to polls, Vijay Deverakonda was the only Telugu star hero to be vocal. He left none in doubt that he voted for the TRS. "If you want development, a good standard of living, well-maintained roads, power, water, etc., you should partake in the electoral process by casting your vote in favour of your preferred political party," he said. Sounds politically neutral? No.
The actor added that, in the last 10 years, we (meaning the people of Telangana) got enough power and water because... Well, you know what he meant to say after that, regardless of what he actually said. Because... people voted in the TRS.
VD's politically vocal views have made many say that he was the only fearless star hero to take sides. Earlier in the day, Megastar Chiranjeevi feigned a throat infection when a TV journo tried to elicit his political views. Almost every other Tollywood star was mum. VD was the only one who gave a cryptic pro-TRS sermon to the voters. That was bold, considering that many had already been feeling that a return of KCR for the third term was not a foregone conclusion. If the TRS gets defeated, VD should watch out for political targeting.
