S. P. Balasubrahmanyam was born in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh state, India, on 04-06-1946. He is an Indian Playback Singer, Movie Actress, Music Director, Voice Artist, Film Producer, Singer, Composer & Tv Presenter who is renowned for his work in Telugu, Kannada, Bollywood, and Tamil films.

His father is S. P. Sambamurthy and has a younger sister S. P. Sailaja. He got married with Savitri, and the pair have one daughter named Pallavi and one son called P.B. Charan who is also a playback singer and film producer. He had finished his engineering education from Chennai.

Balasubrahmanyam Sripathi Panditaradhyula identified as S. P. Balasubrahmanyam is a well-known Indian film industry singer. His loved ones often refer to him as Balu. He has also earned the Guinness World Record award of "the largest number of albums."
Following his father's footsteps, he established a very early interest in music. He learnt to play flute and harmonium instruments. Playback singer P.B. Srinivas has given up his first audition "Nilave Ennidam Nerungadhe."
He made his debut with his mentor S.P.Kodandapani in a Telugu film on December 15, 1966. He is the artist known to record the highest number of songs in one day. He released 21 songs in a mere 12 hours. He came with the film Sankarabharanam, directed by K Vishwanath, to the international limelight. His first work in Hindi movies was EK DOOJE KE LIE, by which he received National awards for best male playback singer.
He gave Bollywood actor Salman Khan voice over in Maine Pyaar Kia and Hum Apke Hain Kaun in 1989. He also recorded Shahrukh Khan for Chennai Express Title Song to playback. He has also been dubbing artist for actors such as Kamal Hasan, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Raghuvardhan, and Rajnikanth.
He owns the Guinness World Record for most songs to perform. He's sung more than 10,000 songs in total. He recorded a Bollywood song in Shahrukh Khan starrer movie Chennai Express, after a period of nearly 15 years.
